*** We regret that we are unable to admit children on the tour as we would like to ensure all our visitors are able to give their full attention to the presentation by the senior leadership team. This will enable all parents to absorb the information presented to them without disruption, and support parents in making the right decision of school setting for their child for September 2025. Parents who arrive with children will be asked to book onto another tour. ***

It is a local myth that if you live outside of our official school catchment area that your child will not be given a place at Orchard infant school. Due to the falling birth rate in the New Forest in recent years, this is no longer true and you are very likely to be given a school place here if you apply, even if you live a several miles away from our school.
Last year 98% of children whose parents chose Orchard Infant School as their first choice school were given a place here.

Children Moving Schools
In-year applications can be made at any time via the Hampshire Education website (see link below), or alternatively by completing an "In -Year Application for a school place" form which is available from the school office.

If we do not have current places available for your child's year group, when your application is received, your child will be placed on a waiting list so that we can make contact with you as soon as a place becomes available.
