Music

The Year 1 and Year 2 children spend one term a year with our fantastic music teacher Mrs Prest. In these enriching sessions the children learn how to play and instrument and learn the interrelated dimensions of music. By the end of the term the children understand  how music is created through the application of these dimensions: pitch, duration, dynamics, tempo, timbre, texture, structure and appropriate musical notations. They use their voices expressively and creatively by singing songs and speaking chants and rhymes. They will end their time with Mrs Prest by inviting their grown-ups into school to watch them confidently perform in front of an audience.
